The chapel “Ascension of the Lord” (Sveti Spas) is a spiritual guardian of Raduyl, located on a picturesque hill. As part of the Raduyl Sacred Forest, it gathers believers on Ascension Day (Spasovden) to pray for health and blessing. The site offers spiritual tranquility and magnificent views of the peaks of the Rila Mountains.
The chapel “Saint Petka of Tarnovo” is a spiritual symbol of Raduyl and a protector of the home. As part of the Raduyl Sacred Forest, it is a place for prayer and humility. On Petkovden (St. Petka’s Day), believers gather here to pray for health and prosperity, preserving the centuries-old traditions of this Rila mountain village.
The chapel “St. Archangel Michael” in Raduyl is a place of spiritual strength and healing. Nearby is the famous holy spring (Ayazmo) with healing water that attracts believers from across the region. The combination of prayerful devotion and the living power of nature turns this place into a true oasis for both soul and body.
The chapel “Protection of the Mother of God” was built in memory of a miracle during the Balkan Wars. When a thick fog saved a group of soldiers from Raduyl from an enemy siege, they vowed to build a temple on that very spot. Today the chapel stands as a symbol of heavenly protection and the living memory of the village.
The chapel “Saint George” is a spiritual oasis surrounded by the nature of Raduyl. A symbol of courage and divine protection, it is a beloved place for prayer and peaceful walks. On St. George’s Day, a traditional gathering takes place here, bringing together believers to honor the victorious saint in the heart of the “Little Jerusalem.”
The old church “Saint Nicholas” is the spiritual guardian of Raduyl, with roots dating back to the 10th century. Built at the highest point of the village during the Ottoman period, it stands as a symbol of the village’s unbreakable spirit. Legend connects it to the father of Tsar Samuil, while its ancient frescoes preserve the mystical charm of the “Little Jerusalem.”
Built in 1900, the church “Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary” is the center of spiritual life in Raduyl. With its valuable icons and impressive architecture, the church is a must-visit for every guest of the village. The temple’s feast day is celebrated with a festive gathering on August 15 – the Feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God (Great Holy Mother).

The International Folklore Festival “Bobfest” in the village of Raduyl is one of the most significant cultural events in the region.
